The experience
You start from your hotel in Playa Hermosa with pickup included, which means no need to arrange transport or navigate to a meeting point on your own. The day unfolds in the foothills of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, where the landscape shifts between canopy, river and thermal springs. A local guide leads the group in English or Spanish, moving through each activity in sequence so you're not standing around between stops.
The canopy section combines rock climbing and rappelling as you work through the trees, then you mount a horse for the ride to Rio Colorado. Tubing down the river comes next. The current does most of the work, though you'll navigate some sections actively. The day ends at the natural hot springs, where you can soak before heading back. Buffet lunch is included partway through, timed so you're not eating right before or after the water activities.
The eight-hour span means an early start and a full afternoon. This is not a half-day option. Children can join if accompanied by an adult, and specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with very small kids. Travelers with spinal injuries or pregnancy should skip this one, as the climbing, rappelling and tubing involve impact and movement the operator does not recommend for those situations.

Can I do the ziplining and tubing separately, or is it all four activities together?
All four activities (canopy ziplining with rock climbing and rappelling, horseback riding, tubing, and the hot springs) are included as one package. You cannot pick and choose individual activities on this booking.
What's the tubing like on Rio Colorado, and how difficult is it?
Rio Colorado tubing involves floating downriver on an inner tube. Some sections require active paddling and navigation, while others let the current carry you. The operator rates it as moderate difficulty, so you should be comfortable in water and able to handle a moving current.
Does the price include lunch, and when do we eat?

What do I need to bring, and what gear is provided?
All activity gear (harnesses, helmets, tubes and safety equipment) is provided. Bring a current valid passport, swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and water shoes or sandals that can get wet. A change of clothes is useful for after the river activities.
