The experience
You'll be fitted with a harness and helmet before stepping onto the first elevated platform. A knowledgeable guide walks you through the equipment and safety procedures, then you launch yourself from the platform and glide along steel cables strung between trees. As you move from one platform to the next, you experience the sensation of flying through the forest while taking in views of the rainforest canopy, treetops, and the wildlife moving through them. The guides provide information about the local ecosystem and flora as you progress through the course.
The activity is built around the Congo Trail Canopy Tour, which combines the zipline course with optional hanging bridges and a stop at the monkey refuge center. This setup appeals to both adrenaline-seekers and nature enthusiasts who want to see the jungle from above and learn about what lives there. The entire experience runs about 90 minutes from start to finish.
An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and brings you to the site, so you don't need to arrange your own transport. The guide speaks English or Spanish depending on your preference. The course is wheelchair accessible, and infants and small children can come along in a pram or stroller, though the activity itself requires at least moderate physical fitness and is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns.
