The experience
The farm sits on hectares of coffee plantation with a hundred years of history. A coffee expert meets you there and walks the different stages of growth, from seedlings to mature bushes, explaining what each phase demands. You don't just watch: you plant a coffee seed in the nursery beds and pick coffee cherries straight from the bushes. After the field work, you move inside to see roasting and sometimes grinding, the final steps before the beans reach a cup.
Once you've traced coffee from seed to roast, you taste a fresh cup brewed on the farm. The flavor lands differently when you've handled the cherry yourself. Then the tour shifts to Salento's colonial center, where the walking portion shows you the town's traditional architecture and the warm people who work the territory: a natural complement to the farm's story of how coffee shapes the region's economy and livelihood.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included. You choose which town you depart from: Salento, Filandia, Pereira, or Armenia. The guide contacts you the day before to confirm details. Bring comfortable shoes, water and sunscreen. The tour runs in all weather, so dress for the conditions and keep hydrating throughout the five hours.
