The experience
You meet your guide at Metro Line 6, Liang Jia Xiang Station Exit D at either 8:50am or 1:50pm. The first stop is an authentic local spice market where you explore Sichuan ingredients and complete challenges to learn which spices go into the dishes you'll cook. This is not a walk-through. You're bargaining and handling the real materials the kitchen uses.
The cooking happens in a workshop kitchen where a professional chef teaches you step-by-step. You start with Sichuan tea, served in the traditional way locals greet visitors, then move into the hands-on class. Each of the three dishes gets its own instruction, and you cook them yourself rather than watching a demonstration. The recipes go home with you so you can remake them later.
When the cooking is done, you eat the dishes you made in a home-style garden restaurant setting, with beer or other beverages available. The whole experience runs 4 to 5 hours from start to finish. Individual cooking equipment is provided, and your guide speaks fluent English throughout.
