Once you arrive at Moraine Lake, you choose. Option 1 gives you 1.5 hours here and 3.5 at Lake Louise. Option 2 flips it — 3 hours at Moraine, 2 at Louise. Option 3 is all Moraine Lake, five full hours if that's where your head is. You confirm with your guide that morning, so there's no guessing. At Moraine Lake, you can rent a canoe (around $160 per hour, first-come basis) and paddle out where the crowds don't reach, or hike the shoreline, or just sit with the water. The access fee is already paid — one less thing to figure out at the dock.

Lake Louise works the same way. Hike to Lake Agnes Teahouse if you want the climb, or take the Fairview Lookout trail, or walk the shoreline and let the scale of it sink in. The point is you're not rushing. Most visitors snap a photo and leave; you're staying long enough to actually be there. The van has air conditioning, panoramic windows, and umbrellas if the weather turns. Pickups run from Canmore or Harvie Heights between 8 and 8:15 AM, or from Banff between 8:30 and 8:45 AM — close enough to most hotels that you're not adding an hour of travel before the day starts.

One thing to know: canoe rental isn't included, and if you're bringing an inflatable SUP, you need to email ahead so the driver knows to save the space. Same with strollers — foldable only, and you have to confirm first. The waiver is electronic and needs your full signature at least 24 hours before. It's not complicated, just the kind of detail that matters when you're coordinating 14 people and two lakes in one day.
