The experience

The day starts before dawn with a transfer through mountain scenery to Stone Park, where you walk a small path lined with semi-arid forest and oddly shaped rocks all the way to the cliffs. Breakfast and coffee arrive while you're standing there looking out at the sea. The walk back takes you through the same terrain in daylight, so the landscape reads differently on the return.

After returning to the village, an electric car carries you up the mountain to a suspended bridge that marks the boundary between Vinh Hy and a Raglai ethnic minority hamlet. You walk through the hamlet itself, part of Nui Chua National Park, to see the endemic plants and learn how people live in the mountains, then step into the nearby jungle for a swim in fresh water and seasonal fruit.
