The experience

The boat leaves An Thoi harbor mid-morning after pickup from Duong Dong ward. You're heading south to Xuong Island (or Gam Ghi Island), where you snorkel over unspoiled coral reefs with many different coral species.

Before the snorkeling and lunch, though, the boat makes a fishing stop. A chance to try the local equipment: the guide shows you how it works, and it's genuinely different from what most tourists do on a beach day. After the snorkeling, you're back on the boat for lunch. After that, May Rut Trong Island is where the day slows down. You can swim, lie on the beach under the coconut trees, or sit at the Beach Bar with a drink and just watch the water. The snorkeling and the fishing are the structure. This part is the breathing room.

You get snorkeling gear, a life jacket, the guide who speaks English, and transport both ways: car from your hotel to the harbor and the boat itself.
