The Experience

After fishing, the boat heads to Mong Tay Island or Gam Ghi Island (the guide picks based on conditions that day), where you'll snorkel in water clear enough that you see the reef without trying. You get snorkeling equipment, a big bottle of water, and enough time to actually swim instead of being herded through. The whole day is seven hours door-to-door, which sounds long until you realize it includes the drive to the harbor, the boat ride out, two islands, a meal, and the drive back.
