The Experience

Six hours on the water, three islands, one boat. The day starts with hotel pickup in the morning—your driver collects you from the lobby and takes you to An Thoi port, where the boat waits. From there you head southeast to Hon Xuong first, a small island with white sand and coral reefs clear enough to see the fish before you enter the water. The snorkeling here is the main event: colorful reef fish, sea creatures moving through the shallows, the kind of visibility that makes the mask worth wearing.

After Hon Xuong, the boat moves northwest to Gam Ghi Island, also called Robinson Island. This one feels more remote—fewer boats, fewer people, the beaches quieter. You get time to snorkel again and to sit on the sand if you want to stop moving. Mây Rút Island comes third, the last stop before the return journey. Each island has its own character: the first is the busiest, the second the most secluded, the third sits somewhere between. Lunch happens on the boat, included, and your guide—English or Vietnamese speaking—knows the best spots at each stop and watches to make sure everyone stays safe in the water, whether you've snorkeled before or this is your first time.

The boat brings you back to An Thoi in the afternoon, and your driver meets you there to return you to your hotel. All the gear stays with the boat: mask, fins, snorkel, all provided. The only thing you bring is a towel and sunscreen. If you're staying outside Duong Dong town, there's an extra fee for the pickup and drop-off—ask when you book so there's no surprise at the end of the day.
