You get picked up from your hotel in Duong Dong and driven to An Thoi pier, where your private speed boat and guide are waiting. The boat heads first to Fingernail Island, part of the Phu Quoc Marine Park: a small island with white sand and calm water around it, good for a first snorkel if you want to warm up. Your guide is with you in the water and can point out what lives on the reef, and you can stay as long as you want before heading to the next stop.
Gam Ghi Island sits in shallow reef that's ideal for snorkeling. The sand is soft and white, and the water stays turquoise close to shore. You'll see small fish, sea worms and shellfish moving through the hard coral. May Rut Island, 10 kilometers south, is privately owned and has a different reef setup. Your guide will pick the best snorkeling spot there based on the day's sea conditions. A second snorkel happens near Hon Thom Island on the way back, again chosen for calm water and good visibility that day.
BBQ lunch happens on one of the islands: vegetarian meals are available if you request them when you book. You get bottled water throughout the day, all snorkeling equipment (mask, fins, snorkel), and the A/C van ride back to your hotel.
