This one starts there and keeps going — first into Paradise Cave, where 31 kilometers of passage wind through Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, then into Dark Cave, where the real activities happen. The contrast hits you fast: one is silent and sculptural, the other is built for movement. Pickup happens at 8am from Dong Hoi or Phong Nha village, and by 9am you're inside Paradise, walking through chambers where the widest section opens to 150 meters across and the ceiling climbs to 100 meters. It's the longest and biggest dry cave in Asia, and the scale of it doesn't register until you're standing in it.

Dark Cave is where the day shifts. After lunch at a local restaurant around noon, you spend three hours doing things — zip-lining across the entrance, swimming in cold water that actually wakes you up, kayaking on the river inside the cave. There's a swing and mini-ziplines with an obstacle course on the Chay River if you want more. But the thing people mention after is the mud bath at the end of Dark Cave. You wade into it, and the texture is nothing like you expect; it's warm and thick and somehow it works. Your guide (Vietnamese or English-speaking) stays with you through all of it, and by 4pm you're heading back to Dong Hoi, arriving around 5pm. The whole day runs about nine hours from pickup to drop-off.

Bring a swimsuit — it's required for Dark Cave, and you'll use it. The tour includes park entry, the dragon boat ride, and a golf car transfer to parts of Paradise Cave, so you're not hiking the whole thing on foot.
