The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Dong Hoi or Phong Nha between 7:30 and 8:45 AM, then moves straight to Paradise Cave. You ride an electric buggy through the forest and walk to the entrance, where a guide leads you through the dry cave's vast chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years. The wooden pathways let you move at your own pace while learning the cave's geological history. By 12:30 PM you're back in Phong Nha for a local Vietnamese lunch (vegetarian options available on request).

The afternoon is built around Dark Cave and Chay River. You start with the 400-meter zipline across the crystal-clear river, then kayak and swim in the water below. After that comes the cave itself: equipped with a helmet and headlamp, you trek through its natural passages in complete darkness. The centerpiece is a natural mud bath deep inside the cave where the mineral-rich mud lets you float effortlessly. You rinse off in the cave's natural spring water, then return outside for more riverside time before the return journey begins around 4:30 PM. Drop-off is back at your hotel by 5:00 to 5:30 PM.
