The experience
You leave Hanoi in the evening on a VIP sleeper bus with a private cabin, arriving in Ha Giang early the next morning. After resting at a partner hotel, the four-day loop begins. The choice between riding as a passenger behind an Easy Rider or self-driving your own motorbike is yours to make at checkout: both options follow the same route and stay with the same group, so the decision comes down to how you want to experience the ride.
The loop itself covers the winding mountain passes and valleys that make Ha Giang famous. Day one takes you through Bac Sum Pass to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, a mountaintop café stop with panoramic views, then to Lung Tam where you watch local H'Mong weavers at work before swimming at Du Gia Waterfall. You sleep in a homestay and share "happy water" with your hosts over dinner. Day two rides through the M-shaped curve and Happiness Road (a legendary route built by ethnic workers over six years), then down to the Nho Que River for a boat trip through Tu San Canyon, Southeast Asia's deepest gorge. Ma Pi Leng Pass comes next, with photo stops at the Dinosaur Spine and Death Rock. Day three starts at Lung Cu Flag Tower, Vietnam's northernmost point, where you climb to the top and look out over the borderlands, then visit the Vuong Family Palace, an H'Mong royal residence blending H'Mong, French and Chinese architecture. You arrive in Dong Van in the late afternoon and eat street food in the old quarter. If your tour falls on a weekend, you ride through the Dong Van Sunday market, where ethnic minorities sell everything from vegetables to livestock.
The group stays small, 6 to 10 riders, which keeps the pace relaxed and makes it easy to meet other travelers. Your guide is a local who grew up in the mountains and knows the roads, culture and hidden viewpoints. Helmets, raincoats, drinking water and all entrance fees are included. Lunch is provided each day. Motorbike and fuel come with your booking. Homestays offer traditional meals and a chance to sit with local families. Evenings often include music and sometimes karaoke with the group.

Is this one for you?Choose self-driving if you want to control the bike and feel the full independence of the ride. Choose the Easy Rider option if you'd rather relax, take photos freely, and let an experienced local rider handle the mountain passes. Both stay with the same small group and follow the same route, so the difference is purely how you want to experience the four days.

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (13 to 18 years); Child (6 to 12 years). Children under 6 can't be included in the booking.
Can I choose to ride my own motorbike instead of sitting behind an Easy Rider?

What is the Lung Cu Flag Tower and why is it on the itinerary?
Lung Cu Flag Tower marks the northernmost point of Vietnam. On day three you ride there, climb to the top of the tower, and look out over the borderlands. It's one of the most iconic stops on the Ha Giang Loop and a major photo moment.
What happens if the tour falls on a weekend?
If your dates land on a weekend, the itinerary includes a stop at the Dong Van Sunday market, one of the most vibrant ethnic markets in the region. You'll see minority groups buying and selling vegetables, herbs, pigs and buffaloes: a rare glimpse of local commerce and culture.
Where do I sleep during the 4 days?
You stay in local homestays in ethnic minority villages: Du Gia on night one, Pa Vi village in Meo Vac on night two, and Dong Van on night three. Homestays include traditional home-cooked dinners and time to sit with local families.
What gear and safety equipment is provided?
Helmets, raincoats, and drinking water (one bottle per day) are included. If you self-drive, you ride a 150cc motorbike with fuel provided. The guide and Easy Riders use quality 150cc bikes as well.
How do I get from Hanoi to Ha Giang to start the tour?
A VIP sleeper bus departs from Hanoi Old Quarter in the evening, with private cabins for comfort. You arrive in Ha Giang early the next morning and rest at a partner hotel before the loop begins. Alternatively, a limousine day bus arrives in the early afternoon, giving you time to visit Thon Tha Village (a peaceful Tay ethnic area) before the official loop starts the following morning.
