The experience
The tour starts at 9:00 AM from Sapa town and heads into the valley villages that most day-trippers never reach. You trek through Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, and Ta Van, moving through terraced rice fields and past houses where local ethnic families live. The pace is moderate, built for walkers in reasonable shape, and the guide speaks English throughout. By evening you arrive at Giay Local House, where you stay in a private wood bungalow, not a shared dorm or basic homestay, but your own room in the quiet of Ta Van Valley.
Dinner comes from the local family's kitchen, and breakfast the next morning does too. After eating, you trek again at 9:00 AM, this time through Giang Ta Chai, Su Pan, and a stretch of bamboo forest. The second day's route brings you back toward Sapa, and at the end a car or motorbike picks you up and carries you back to town. Bottled water travels with you both days. The two lunches, one dinner, and one breakfast are all part of the price.

Is this one for you?Two full days means you commit the better part of your time in Sapa to the trek and the valley, leaving little room for other activities in town. If you want to explore Sapa's market or visit attractions within town itself, a one-day trek might suit you better. If you're willing to trade that time for a deeper immersion in the villages and a night sleeping in the mountains, this one delivers it.
