Snorkeling in Destin means renting the Back Porch Pontoon, a 6-passenger boat anchored at Crab Island with snorkeling gear, paddle boards, floats, games and a cooler of ice included. You choose from five departure lengths (3 to 6 hours) and bring your own drinks and snacks. The guide handles the rest, leaving you free to move between the water, the hammock, the upper deck and whatever game catches your attention that day.

The experience

The boat holds six passengers total and anchors at Crab Island, where the water is shallow enough for snorkeling and the setup is already waiting. Snorkeling gear, paddle boards and dock floats come with the rental. An ice chest filled with ice is yours to load with whatever you bring. The guide speaks English and stays on board, so questions about the water, the gear or the games get answered without leaving the boat.

Between snorkeling runs, the pontoon itself becomes the activity. Basketball, ax throwing, volleyball, frisbee toss, a one-hole putting green, karaoke and a hammock for drifting are all set up and ready. The upper deck offers sun exposure and views. The shaded bar area keeps you cool. Children under 6 must wear a lifejacket when the boat is moving, but you bring that yourself. Bring your own drinks and snacks: no alcohol is sold on Crab Island, so BYOB is the rule, and glass containers are not allowed.

Five departure lengths let you pick your day: 3 hours, 3.5 hours (sunset combo), 4 hours (most popular), 5 hours, or the full 6 hours. All fees and taxes are included in the price.
