The experience

Book the duration that fits your schedule (anywhere from a 2-hour dolphin and eco cruise to a full 8-hour day), and tell the captain what you want to do. The boat holds up to 6 people, so it's your group alone. Crab Island is the most popular stop, and the operator suggests the 4-hour booking if that's on your list. Dolphins cruise close to the boat year-round, and snorkeling happens in the shallows with other local swimmers. The Destin Harbor itself is part of the route. You'll pass fishing boats, waterfront restaurants and the homes that line the water.

Everything you need to be in the water is on board: snorkel gear, stand-up paddle boards, and a 10-foot BOTE water hammock for floating between swims. A waterproof Bluetooth speaker plays music while you're anchored. The cooler comes stocked with ice and bottled water. You're welcome to bring your own food and alcohol (glass containers only stay on shore). The captain handles navigation and timing, so you're free to move between swimming, paddling and lounging without planning the next stop.
