The experience

The boat leaves Destin Harbor and the rest is yours to decide. Want to head straight into the Gulf to search for dolphins, sea turtles and manta rays? Go. Prefer to anchor at Crab Island and get in the water right away? The captain takes you there. Most trips mix both: an hour or two hunting wildlife, then time to snorkel and paddleboard at the island with a drink in hand. The captain knows the waters and the animals. You set the pace and the stops.

Everything you need to actually snorkel is on board: gear, paddleboards, water toys, a cooler stocked with ice and bottled water. The boat holds up to six people, so it stays small and maneuverable. You can book anywhere from 2 hours to a full 6-hour day, and the itinerary bends to what you want to do that morning or afternoon. If the dolphins are active, stay longer. If the water is perfect for paddleboarding, take your time there. If you've got young kids or just want a quick swim, a 2-hour trip works just as well.

The captain is a local who reads the Gulf and knows where to find wildlife without the guessing. He handles the boat so you handle the snorkel and the paddleboard.
