Destin Snorkeling and Shelling: Two-Stop Adventure
Hunt shells and seahorses on the bay floor while your captain points out passing dolphins.
A three-hour snorkeling activity in Destin takes you to the Jetties and grassy flats to hunt shells, crabs, and seahorses while your captain guides you toward dolphin pods. Check in an hour before departure; bring your own beverages and snacks in a cooler (no glass). The boat is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all fitness levels, with infants welcome on an adult's lap.
The Experience
The boat leaves from Destin's waterfront, and you'll spend the first part of the three hours snorkeling at the Jetties, where vibrant fish schools move through shallow and deeper water alike. Your captain leads the way, pointing out the marine life as you explore. The second stop takes you to the bay's grassy flats—this is where the treasure hunt begins. You collect shells, spot crabs and seahorses moving across the bottom, and hunt for baby shrimp. Everything you find is yours to keep, as long as the shells are empty. Between stops, stay alert: dolphins often cruise through Holiday Isle's waters, and your captain will steer toward them when they appear.
Bring a small cooler with snacks and your own beverages—water, juice, whatever you want for the three hours on the water. Glass containers aren't allowed, but everything else is fair game. Check in an hour before your departure time so the captain can brief the group and get everyone settled on the boat. The boat itself is wheelchair accessible, and infants can ride on an adult's lap. No special fitness level is required; the snorkeling ranges from shallow to deeper water, so you choose what suits you.
