The experience

The tour runs four hours total: one hour driving the island with your guide, two hours at Magens Bay Beach, and stops at two scenic overlooks along the way. You'll start from your hotel or cruise port (pickup options include Bunker Hill, Crown Bay Dock, Olga's Fancy, Bolongo Bay, Emerald Beach, the Ritz-Carlton, Sapphire Beach, and Hampton By Hilton), then head to Mountain Top on Crown Mountain. At 2,100 feet above sea level, it's one of the island's highest points, with views across the water and a duty-free shop carrying jewelry, alcohol, t-shirts and other goods. A world-famous banana daiquiri is available there if you want one (at your own expense).

From Mountain Top, the route includes a stop at Drake's Seat and another scenic overlook, both set up for photos. Then you reach Magens Bay, a one-mile stretch of soft white sand and clear water that regularly ranks among the world's best beaches. You have two hours free to swim, walk or rest before the return drive. The guide stays with the group throughout and provides live commentary on the island's history and landmarks during the drive.

The tour operates rain or shine and works for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your own towel, swimwear and gear if you prefer not to rent or buy them at the beach. After beach time, rinse off sand and change into dry clothes before getting back in the vehicle.
