The experience
Your guide is a native islander who grew up here, so the stops aren't just scenic overlooks. They're the places that shaped the island's history and culture. You'll start in Charlotte Amalie's historic district, walking past Blackbeards Castle, Bluebeards Castle, the 99 Steps and Emancipation Garden, with time to shop if you want. Then the jeeps head off-road up Crown Mountain, St. Thomas' highest point at 1,555 feet, where the view opens over the Caribbean. Mountain Top is next. The famous spot where you can try their signature banana daiquiri and see tropical fruit trees and vistas along the West End.
Drake's Seat is the stop where you stand where Sir Francis Drake reportedly stood in the 1500s, looking out over Magens Bay. It's the kind of viewpoint that makes the island's geography click into place. After that, the day splits: you either stay on St. Thomas and beach-hop between Brewers Bay (where sea turtles swim) and another beach of your choice, or you take the Water Island ferry for a different kind of day. If you go to Water Island, your guide rides the ferry with you and helps you onto an open-air safari bus to Honeymoon Beach, where you can rent water sports gear, grab food and drinks at Dingy's Beach Bar, and spend 1 to 3 hours in the water or on the sand.
Groups stay between 5 and 12 guests, split across two or three jeeps depending on your booking. The tour runs 6 hours total. Water and beach noodles are included. You'll also get life jackets if you're swimming. Your guide speaks English and shares island customs, folklore and lingo as you go: the kind of detail that turns a sightseeing run into an actual education about where you are.

Is this one for you?Choose the Water Island ferry option if you want a more secluded beach day with fewer crowds. Stay on St. Thomas if you prefer the variety of two different beaches and the chance to swim with sea turtles at Brewers Bay. Both routes fit inside the 6-hour window, so the choice is about which kind of afternoon suits your trip.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is Drake's Seat and why is it worth the stop?
Drake's Seat is a hilltop overlook where Sir Francis Drake is said to have stood in the 1500s, looking out over Magens Bay. You get the same view he did, and it's one of the tour's signature photo moments.
Can I swim with sea turtles on this tour?
Yes, if you choose the St. Thomas beach option in the afternoon. Brewers Bay is where the sea turtles swim, and you can hop to another beach afterward. The Water Island route goes to Honeymoon Beach instead, which is more secluded but doesn't feature the same turtle swimming.
What's included in the tour price?
Water, beach noodles and life jackets are included. Lunch, brunch and alcoholic drinks are not, though Mountain Top has a bar and Water Island's Dingy's Beach Bar serves food and drinks you can buy separately.
How does the Water Island ferry part work?
In the afternoon, instead of beach-hopping on St. Thomas, you board the Water Island passenger ferry with your guide. Once there, you hop on an open-air safari bus to Honeymoon Beach, where you can stay 1 to 3 hours swimming, renting water sports or eating at the beach bar.
How many people fit in each jeep?
Groups of 5 to 8 guests travel in two jeeps, or 9 to 12 guests travel in three jeeps. Your booking determines which option you get.
