The experience
The tour starts with pickup from your hotel and heads to Patong Beach, the crescent-shaped resort town on Phuket's west coast facing the Andaman Sea. From there you move inland to Karon Viewpoint, where the vantage point opens up three beaches at once: Kata, Kata Noi, and Karon stretching below. The viewpoint is the setup for what comes next: Wat Chalong, the most important of Phuket's 29 Buddhist temples, sits in the Chalong Subdistrict and draws both pilgrims and visitors for its scale and detail.
The Big Buddha comes next: a 45-metre statue on the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata, tall enough to be seen from Phuket Town and Karon Beach on clear days. After that, the route swings through a cashew nut factory, one of Phuket's largest income sources, where you get free samples and the option to buy. The final stop is Phuket Old Town, where Thalang Road is lined with 19th-century Sino-Portuguese shophouses in faded pastels and weathered wood. The tour ends at the Gems Gallery, the biggest gem store and factory in the world, where you can stay as long as you want in the air-conditioned lounge with a complimentary soft drink, or ask your guide to arrange your return to the hotel right away.
Transport is by air-conditioned minivan with a professional local guide. The whole outing runs about five hours. Entrance fees, the cashew factory samples, and hotel transfers are included. Gratuities are optional. Infant seats are available on a first-booked-first-served basis, and restroom facilities are available throughout the route.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Thai.
What is the Big Buddha and why is it on this tour?
Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the island's most important landmarks: a 45-metre statue perched on the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata, visible from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach. It's the signature stop on the tour and the reason many travelers book it.
Does the price change if I'm traveling with a smaller group?
No. The tour is one fixed price for 1 to 8 passengers, so whether you're alone or with seven others, the total cost stays the same. The per-person cost drops as your group grows.
What happens at the cashew factory?
The cashew nut factory is a brief, popular stop where you get free samples. Cashew nuts are a native crop of Phuket and relatively cheap compared to Western prices, so many travelers buy some to take home. Any purchases are optional and at your own expense.
Can I skip the Gems Gallery at the end, or do I have to stay there?
You choose. The Gems Gallery is the final stop, and you can stay as long as you want to browse the store and factory, or ask your guide to arrange your return to the hotel right away. Either way, your guide will get you back quickly.
What's included in the price?
Hotel pickup and return, entrance fees to all attractions, samples at the cashew factory, transport in an air-conditioned minivan, and a professional private guide who speaks English or Thai are all included. Gratuities are optional.
How long does the whole tour take?
The tour runs about five hours from pickup to return, covering Patong Beach, Karon Viewpoint, Wat Chalong, Big Buddha, the cashew factory, Phuket Old Town, and the Gems Gallery.
