The experience

You start with hotel pickup in the morning and meet your guide at the trailhead. The jungle hike follows off-the-beaten-path trails where you'll spot local plants, trees and wildlife: monkeys often appear along the way. The walk takes you through Phuket's interior with views of the island opening up as you climb. After the hike, you stop for a short break with fresh coconut, tropical fruits and Thai desserts while you catch your breath and look out over the landscape.

A shuttle then takes you up Big Buddha Hill. The statue itself (45 meters tall and 25.45 meters wide) stands closed to entry, but you view it from behind and photograph it against the Phuket skyline. From there you head to Wat Luang Phu Supha (Si Supharam Temple), where the guide walks you through the peaceful grounds and explains the temple's role in Thai life. You make merit by offering goods to the monks, join in chanting and receive a blessing. The second temple, Wat Chalong, is Phuket's largest and most visited. Built in the early 19th century, it holds a splinter of Buddha's bone. Your guide shares its history and significance as you pay respects.

Lunch happens at a farm-to-table restaurant where the meal is made from fresh, organic ingredients grown locally. Smoothies come from the same sourced produce. The tour returns you to your hotel by 3:30pm.
