The experience
You start in Tarangire National Park on day one, a 2-hour drive from your hotel in Arusha. The park is built around its river and seasonal swamps, and the open-roof vehicle lets you watch elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions and leopards move across the landscape. Baobab trees, the largest on the African continent, stand scattered across the savanna. A picnic lunch breaks the game drive, and you stay overnight at Farm of Dreams before the 4- to 5-hour drive to the Serengeti begins the next morning.
Days two and three run in the Serengeti. The second day arrives in the afternoon after a picnic lunch en route, giving you time for a sunset game drive. On day three, you're up around 6 am for a sunrise drive when the animals are most active, then return to camp by noon. The Serengeti's open plains stretch without visible boundary, and the wildlife moves across them in patterns the guide reads as the day unfolds. You overnight at Misako Luxury Camp & Lodges on day two, then return to Farm of Dreams on day three before the final push to Ngorongoro.
The crater itself is the fourth morning. After breakfast you descend into the conservation area, home to nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater floor holds a river, multiple swamps and a soda lake ringed with flamingos. The massive bull elephants here carry exceptionally large tusks, a result of the mineral-rich volcanic soil and grasses. The 5-hour game drive ends in Arusha, completing the tour.

Is this one for you? This is a shared group tour on a fixed 4-day schedule, so the timing of each park (sunrise in the Serengeti, the final morning in Ngorongoro) is set when you book. Choose it if you want the three major parks in one trip and prefer a guided itinerary with other travelers, rather than building your own route or booking a private vehicle.

Top questions
What animals will I actually see on this 4-day safari?
Tarangire is known for its elephant herds, and you'll also see giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, elands and warthogs across all three parks. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to the rare black rhino and massive bull elephants, plus a river and swamps that draw wildlife year-round. Flamingos gather on the soda lake, and birdlife is rich throughout.
How much time do I actually spend watching wildlife versus driving?
Game drives make up the core of each day: a full day in Tarangire on day one, an afternoon drive on day two after arrival, a sunrise drive on day three, and a 5-hour drive into and around the Ngorongoro Crater on day four. Picnic lunches break the drives, and you return to camp by midday on day three.
Do I need my own vehicle or does the tour provide transportation?
A 4x4 pop-roof safari vehicle with a professional driver-guide is included for all game drives and transfers between parks. The open roof lets you stand and photograph wildlife without leaving the vehicle. Hotel pickup from Arusha and return at the end are part of the booking.
What's included in the price and what do I need to bring?
The tour includes the professional driver-guide, vehicle, all meals, park entry to Ngorongoro Crater, camping equipment, binoculars, wine and beer. You'll need to bring personal items, sun protection and camera gear. Tips and gratuities are separate.
Where do I sleep on this safari?
You stay at Farm of Dreams on nights one and three, and Misako Luxury Camp & Lodges on night two. Both provide overnight accommodation after each day's game drives.
