The experience

The e-bikes do the climbing for you, so the ride focuses on the scenery and the stops rather than the effort. You start with pickup from Interlaken, a basic training session on the bike, and transport to Gäntel Valley. From there, the route follows the Gäntelwasser river upstream through alpine meadows, past the Jungibach and Gentalwasserfall waterfalls, and into the Engstlenalp zone. The historic Hotel Engstlenalp, built in 1892, sits at the heart of this remote area. You stop there to taste cheese from the Schaukäserei, a working mountain dairy that still makes it the traditional way.

Lunch happens at Engstlensee Lake, where you choose between eating at the hotel restaurant, bringing a picnic, or taking a boat ride on the water. The afternoon explores the surrounding trails and viewpoints for photographs and views of Titlis, Tällistock and other peaks, then descends back through the valley on a faster, downhill stretch. You're back in Interlaken by late afternoon. Because this is a private tour, the guide can adjust the route, the pace and the stops if your group wants to linger somewhere or skip ahead.

Wildlife sightings (marmots, golden eagles, ibex) are possible but not guaranteed. The guide speaks English, German or Czech, and participants must be confident bicycle riders at least 16 years old. Photos from the day are included. The operator washes and maintains the bike afterward.
