The experience

The tour starts with a 30-minute drive along the scenic seaside main road, passing through the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College before reaching Morne Fortune for a photo stop overlooking Castries Harbour. From there you head to Marigot Bay's viewpoint to see the bay and Do Little's Hotel, the filming location of the movie Do Little's. A stop at the fishing village of Anse La Raye lets you walk through the community, see local artwork on the walls and visit a small church open to the public. Restrooms are available and you can buy local bakes, chicken, ackra and drinks if you want.

The main event is the waterfall and river pool. After the village stop, you drive into a lush valley planted with bananas, then hike for about half an hour to reach a waterfall surrounded by vegetation. You swim in the natural river pool before heading back to the jeep. The final leg takes you to one of the island's most beautiful west-coast beaches with calm Caribbean waters. There's no set agenda here. You can swim, rest, explore or simply sit and take in the view. Bottled water, Coke, Sprite, local rum punch and snacks keep you refreshed throughout the day.
