The experience

Requena's underground caves are the first stop, and they're not a museum. They're the real storage vaults dug beneath the old town center, still lined with the clay pots the region used for making and storing wine centuries ago. Your sommelier guide walks you through the history of Valencian wine while you stand in the space where it happened, then you taste wines there before moving on.

The second stop is a small, family-run winery from the 19th century. A member of the family shows you through the vineyards and into the winery itself, walking you through the process from grape to bottle. You taste three of their wines at the end. The whole arc (from the caves where wine was stored to the modern vineyard where it's made) gives you the shape of the region's story in a single afternoon.
