Private traditional Mallorcan llaut from Port d'Andratx, Mallorca
Sail a wooden llaut built for the Mediterranean, then anchor in turquoise coves to swim and paddle.
A 4-hour private charter aboard a traditional Mallorcan llaut from Port d'Andratx takes you along the southwest coast to hidden coves accessible only by sea. The boat carries a professional captain and hostess who handle navigation while you swim, snorkel with provided equipment, paddle on SUP boards, and eat Mallorcan snacks with cava and Spanish wine. The llaut is a wooden boat with over 50 years of history, and you're the only passengers aboard.

The experience
What makes a private llaut different from the speedboats and catamarans crowding Mallorca's harbours? This one is a traditional wooden vessel: 14 meters, built to move slowly enough that you actually notice the water changing colour as you round each headland. You leave Port d'Andratx, one of the island's most elegant harbours, and head southwest along a coast most visitors never see. The captain knows where the coves are: the ones too shallow or too narrow for the big tour boats, where the water stays clear enough to see the seafloor.
The 4 hours break into stops rather than a fixed route. You'll anchor in at least two coves for swimming and snorkeling: the crew sets out snorkeling gear and SUP boards so you can explore at your own pace, whether that means floating face-down watching fish or paddling out to a rock formation. Between stops, the hostess brings out Mallorcan snacks, cold drinks, cava and Spanish wine. There's no open bar and no rush. The boat stays put as long as the light holds and the water stays calm.
The captain and hostess both speak English and Spanish, so language never becomes friction. They handle the sailing, the timing, the safety. Your only job is to decide whether you want to swim again or try the SUP board. Insurance, fuel and VAT are already built into the price, so there are no surprises at checkout. Infants can come along (they sit on an adult's lap), and the boat suits all fitness levels because swimming and paddling are optional, not mandatory.

Is this one for you? This is a private charter, so only your group is aboard: ideal if you want the crew's full attention and the freedom to linger in a cove or skip a planned stop. The boat moves slowly enough that you notice details the speedboats miss, and the captain knows the small anchorages where the water stays clearest.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between this llaut and the bigger tour boats leaving Port d'Andratx?
This is a private wooden boat with only your group aboard, so the captain can anchor in smaller coves the tour boats can't reach. The pace is slower and the crew stays focused on your comfort rather than moving through a fixed itinerary with dozens of other passengers.
Can I actually swim and snorkel, or is it just sailing?
Swimming and snorkeling are the main events. The boat stops in clear coves where you can jump in, and snorkeling equipment is provided. SUP boards are also aboard if you want to paddle instead of or in addition to swimming.
What food and drinks come with the charter?
Mallorcan snacks, cold drinks, cava and Spanish wine are included. It's not an open bar, so the hostess brings out what's available during the stops. You're not paying extra for food or drinks beyond what's listed.
How long does the boat stay in each cove?
The itinerary is flexible: the captain anchors as long as conditions allow and you're enjoying the water. There's no fixed time limit per stop, so if you want to spend most of the 4 hours in one exceptional cove, that's possible.
Do I need experience to be on a sailing boat?
No. The captain handles all navigation and sailing. You're a passenger, not crew, and the boat suits all fitness levels because swimming and paddling are optional.
