A three-hour boat trip from Puerto de Alcudia along the Llevant Natural Park coast, with swimming in the Blue Cave and snorkeling at Es Caló cove. The Experience

The boat leaves Puerto de Alcudia and heads toward Cape Farrutx, passing through caves along the way. After 30 minutes you reach the Blue Cave—the one you actually enter by swimming. The boat anchors outside and you swim in for 15 to 20 minutes, moving through the cave opening while the guide stays with the group. The water inside is the draw here, not a viewing platform or a photo stop from a distance.

From there the boat moves to Es Caló, an old small port where you disembark and have time to swim, snorkel and explore the area. Snorkeling equipment, vests and paddle boards are on board and available to use. The cove is sheltered enough that you can move at your own pace—some people stay in the water the whole time, others walk the shoreline. A live guide in English, Spanish or French travels with the group and can point out marine life and answer questions about what you are seeing.

The whole trip runs three hours. You'll want a swimsuit and a towel; the boat provides the gear for being in the water. Infants can come along (they sit on an adult's lap), and the trip suits all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for pregnant travelers.
