The experience

The boat leaves for Es Calo with a skipper and crew on board, and you get 45 minutes in the water there: long enough to snorkel among the marine life, paddle on a board, or simply float and let the sun do the work. The water is clear enough that the reef and the fish are visible without diving, and the cove itself sits in the shadow of the park's cliffs. Snorkel masks and tubes come with you. Paddleboards are rigged and ready.

From Es Calo the boat moves to Arenalet de Aubarca, a second cove with white sand where the pace slows. This is where the two sea caves appear: narrow openings in the rock face that the boat can enter, and they're the kind of place that photographs better than any description. The whole trip runs about three hours from start to finish, which means you're back on land by early afternoon.

The skipper and crew handle navigation and timing so the day holds together without anyone building it.
