Children from age 7 are welcome; all kayak and snorkeling equipment is included.
Step-by-step itinerary
Kayak and snorkel sea caves
- Join guided kayak tour
- Explore sea caves
- Snorkel in Cala Varques
- Discover marine life
The Experience
You start paddling along the cliffs of the Cala Romántica area, where the guide points out natural rock arches and the entrances to sea caves carved into the limestone. The route is not fixed—it shifts based on the day's weather and sea state, so you get the best conditions for both paddling and exploring. Falco Cave and the famous pirate caves are the main targets, and you'll paddle close enough to see inside them, though the guide decides entry based on what is safe that day.
After the cave section, you anchor in Cala Varques and switch to snorkeling. The water is clear enough to see the seafloor, and the guide points out the Posidonia oceanica—the seagrass that anchors the whole Mediterranean ecosystem here. You'll spot local fish and other marine life moving through it. The snorkeling gear is already on the kayak, so there is no second stop or equipment swap; you go straight in.
The whole outing runs three hours. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, French or German, and fills the paddle time with local stories and legends about the caves and the coast. Children from age 7 can join; younger kids can sit on an adult's lap in the kayak. The guide watches conditions throughout and will adjust the route or shorten the cave section if the sea picks up, so the day stays safe without cutting the experience short.

What are the sea caves like when you paddle into them?
Falco Cave and the pirate caves are carved into the limestone cliffs of Cala Romántica and large enough to paddle into when conditions allow. Your guide decides entry based on the day's sea state and weather; if the swell is up or the wind is wrong, you'll see them from the water instead of going inside.
Can I snorkel if I've never done it before?
Yes. The snorkeling happens in Cala Varques, where the water is calm and clear, and your guide is with you the whole time. All equipment is included and fitted before you enter the water.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
The guide adapts the route based on weather and sea conditions before you leave and throughout the outing. If conditions are unsafe for paddling or snorkeling, the tour may be rescheduled or the route shortened, but the operator will work with you on an alternative.
How long does the snorkeling part last?
The whole tour is three hours, with the snorkeling portion taking up the second half after you finish exploring the caves. The exact timing depends on the route the guide chooses based on conditions that day.
Is there a minimum age for this tour?
Children from age 7 can join the tour. Younger children can sit on an adult's lap in the kayak, though they won't paddle or snorkel themselves.
What's included in the price?
All kayak equipment, snorkeling gear, and cave-entry equipment are included. The guide, route planning and local stories are part of the tour.
