A one-day ski trip from Seoul to Elysian Gangchon Ski Resort includes round-trip transport, an English-speaking guide, and your choice of six options: ski or snowboard with equipment rental, a one-hour basic ski lesson (ski only), and either a moving walk pass or a lift pass; or ride a sled, or spend free time on the slopes. The resort has eight of its ten slopes open to beginners and intermediates, with lower slope difficulty than other resorts nearby. Arrive at your Seoul meeting point 5–10 minutes early. Ski suits and waterproof gloves are not included and must be brought or rented separately.

The experience

The tour departs from one of three Seoul locations (Myeongdong Station, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, or Hongik University Station), and takes about an hour to reach Elysian Gangchon. The resort sits 203,740 square meters across eight slopes: two for beginners, one for pre-intermediates, five for intermediates, and two for advanced skiers. Because the terrain is gentler than other resorts in the region, you can learn and practice without the steeper pitches that intimidate first-timers.

The six options let you choose what suits your skill and what you want to do. If you pick ski with the moving walk, you get rental equipment, a one-hour basic ski lesson, and unlimited passes for the moving walk: a gentler way to practice without the commitment of a lift pass. Ski with the lift pass swaps the moving walk for full-slope access once you've had your hour of instruction. Snowboard options come with rental equipment and either the moving walk or lift pass, but no lesson: the operator notes that snowboard instruction is not included. The sled option is for anyone who wants to ride without skiing or snowboarding. It's available from December 26, 2025 onward. Free time means you show up, rent what you need separately, and spend the day as you choose. A lift pass is not recommended for first-timers for safety reasons, so the moving walk option is the safer starting point if you're new to skiing.

Bring your own waterproof gloves or buy them at the resort for 15,000–30,000 KRW. Ski suits are also not included and must be brought or rented separately. Children must be at least seven years old to ski, and children under six need a guardian for sled rides. The tour operates in rain, snow, or wind. You'll return to one of the two main drop-off points in Seoul (Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station or Myeongdong Station) depending on your option and departure location. Note that the tour does not return to Hongik University Station at the end.

What's included in the ski lesson at Elysian Gangchon?

The ski options include one hour of basic ski instruction as part of the package. The lesson covers fundamentals so you can practice on the moving walk or lift pass afterward. Snowboard rentals do not include a lesson.

Can I choose between the moving walk and the lift pass?

Yes. Both ski and snowboard options let you pick either the moving walk or the lift pass at checkout. The moving walk is recommended for first-timers for safety. The lift pass gives you access to the full slopes once you're ready.

What do I need to bring or rent separately?

Waterproof gloves and a ski suit are not included in any option. You can bring your own or rent them at the resort for gloves (15,000–30,000 KRW) and at rental shops for suits. All other equipment (skis, snowboards, sleighs, helmets, goggles) is included with your chosen option.

How long is the full day, and what time do I need to arrive?

The tour runs 11 to 12 hours total, including transport from Seoul and back. Arrive at your meeting point at least 5–10 minutes before departure. The operator does not refund late arrivals or no-shows.

What are the age and health requirements for skiing or sledding?

Skiers must be at least seven years old. Children under six can ride sleds only if accompanied by a guardian. The tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or those with poor cardiovascular health. Infants must sit on an adult's lap during transport.

Where do I get dropped off at the end of the day?

You return to either Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station or Myeongdong Station, depending on your option and where you departed. The tour does not return to Hongik University Station. If you need to go there, take subway line 2 from Dongdaemun.
