The experience

The tour starts with a pickup at one of three Seoul stations (Hongik University, Myeongdong or Dongdaemun) between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m., then heads north to Eobi Ice Valley. In winter, the valley freezes into ice walls that the guide will point out and explain. You get free time to walk and photograph the formations. From there the group moves to Nami Island, where the guide hands out ferry tickets and you board for the crossing. Once on the island, the afternoon is yours to explore (cafes, tree-lined paths and photo spots scattered across the grounds), and you can grab lunch at one of the island's restaurants.

The rail bike at Gangchon Rail Park comes next. You pedal a vintage two-seater along an old railway line that hugs the river canyon, with views of the water and cliffs the whole way. No cycling fitness required. The track is flat and the pace is yours to set. After that, the guide distributes tickets to The Garden of Morning Calm, a botanical garden where you walk the grounds at night under the garden's lighting. The return to Seoul happens after dark, arriving back at your pickup station around 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Transport, the guide and entry to all four attractions are included in the price. Lunch at Nami Island is on your own, as are any other meals or purchases during the day. The tour runs year-round, though Eobi Ice Valley's ice formations are a winter feature. Outside the cold months, that stop may look different. Infants can ride on an adult's lap, and the itinerary suits all fitness levels.
