You start at Thaghr Plaza in central Riyadh, where your driver meets you next to a white 2023 Land Cruiser LC300 (registration 15 RGU) in the parking lot opposite Jarir Bookstore. The drive takes an hour, passing through Jubaila and the agricultural roads toward Ammaria before you reach the edge of the world: the dramatic cliff edge of the Tuwaiq Mountains. Along the way, your guide explains the Al-Manjoor Trail itself: an archaeological path that stretches back thousands of years, carved by caravans and individuals moving between cities, villages and tribes across the region.

Once you arrive, the guide provides information about the hiking trails and the mountains, then you walk the ancient paths at your own pace. The real draw is the timing: you're there for the sunset, watching it from the cliff edge while the guide serves hot Saudi tea and coffee. On clear nights, the view extends to city lights from Dhurma and Al-Muzahimiyah glowing below, and if the sky is clear enough, you can see the stars. There's no fixed itinerary for the walk itself.
