Therme Bucharest sits outside the city and runs on thermal water pumped from deep below ground: the same water that fills all 10 pools, keeps them at 33 degrees Celsius and feeds the 16 water slides. The facility spans three zones: Galaxy (families with children under 14), Palm and Elysium. You book one of three time slots (3 hours, 4.5 hours or a full 12-hour day), and the transfer picks you up from your hotel, takes you there and brings you back. On the way, your guide points out Bucharest landmarks: Revolution Square, the Arch de Triumph, Union Square, the Palace of Parliament and the Peasant Museum.

Inside, the 560-square-meter wave pool is the largest in Romania, and the water slide network stretches 1.5 kilometers through the complex. The botanical gardens hold over 800,000 plants, including 1,500 palm trees from six countries and countless orchids. Saunas include both dry and wet versions. The indoor temperature stays constant year-round, so the facility works in any season. You'll need a swim suit, towels and slippers: all available to rent on-site if you don't bring your own.
