Doha boat and food tour: 7 tastings with a local guide
Seven tastings, four neighborhoods, one boat ride through the canals
A five- to six-hour food and boat tour of Doha's Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island, led by a local guide who grew up in the city and shares real stories instead of scripts. You taste seven dishes—shawarma, kebab, Kunafa, cheese chapati and Arabic coffee among them—at four different eateries across the waterfront precincts, then cruise the marina by boat. Hotel pickup, air-conditioned transport, and vegetarian or vegan menus on request are included.

The Experience
The tour starts at Legtaifiya Metro Station, where your guide meets you and drives you to The Pearl-Qatar in a cool, comfortable vehicle. From there, the route moves through Qanat Quartier—a neighborhood of pastel canals and European-style architecture—where you taste your first bite, a shawarma. The stops are tailored to the season: in summer, the guide reduces walking time and relies on A/C transport; in cooler months, you spend more time outdoors on the beachfront promenades and in open-air plazas.
You'll sip Karak tea with marina views at Porto Arabia, walk through Viva Bahriya's golden sands, and move into Medina Centrale—the working heart of The Pearl—where you taste smoky Persian kebabs and sweet Kunafa. The guide, a lifelong resident, shares stories and insider knowledge about each neighborhood as you move through them, not a script. By the time you reach Crystal Walk on Gewan Island, you've tasted five dishes and you're ready for the final two: traditional Arabic coffee at a local café, then a 30-minute boat ride through the island-lined marina of Qanat Quartier before returning to Gewan by water.
Bottled water comes with you throughout the day. If you're vegetarian or vegan, let the operator know in advance and they'll arrange a menu that works. All food served is Halal. The guide speaks English and Arabic, and hotel or airport pickup and drop-off are included in the price.
