Fishing and island activities
- Fish using various techniques
- Catch pelagic and reef fishes
- Clean and prepare fish to eat
- Visit island for snorkeling
- Enjoy beach hopping
The experience
What makes this work for mixed groups is the split focus: nobody spends seven hours doing one thing. You fish the inshore grounds where the crew knows the bite, using live bait and light tackle. The boat targets pelagic fish like wahoo, king mackerel and dorado, as well as reef species including tarpon and barracuda. Once the fishing slows or the group has had enough, the boat moves to an island where you snorkel the shallows and spend time on the beach. The crew cleans and fillets any fish you've caught so it's ready to cook or eat.
All fishing equipment, lures and live bait come with the charter. Snorkel gear is provided, along with soda, beer, lunch and snacks for the full day. The guide speaks English and Spanish, so language is not a barrier. Because this is a private charter, your group sets the pace and the balance between fishing and water time. If someone wants to fish longer, the boat stays. If the group wants to move to the island earlier, you go.
