The Monster: America's Longest Zipline in Puerto Rico
Drop dramatically and hit high speeds on a single cable
The Monster is a single zipline ride in Puerto Rico stretching 2.5 kilometers—the longest in the Americas—where you reach speeds up to 95mph suspended 380 meters above the ground. A local guide provides all equipment and instruction; the flight itself takes roughly 70 minutes from start to finish. Closed shoes are required, and you need to weigh between 100 and 270 pounds and stand at least 4 feet tall.
The Experience
The Monster lives up to its name: a 2.5km cable that equals 28 football fields end to end. You arrive, get fitted with the flight equipment, and ride up to the launch pad. From there, the cable drops you into open air at a speed that climbs toward 95mph, holding you 380 meters above the ground for the length of the ride. A local guide handles the setup and talks you through what happens, speaking English or Spanish.
The whole experience—gearing up, the climb to the platform, the flight itself, and the landing—takes about 70 minutes. You need closed shoes and a moderate level of fitness. The weight range is 100 to 270 pounds, and you have to be at least 4 feet tall; there's no upper age limit. Pregnant travelers and anyone with spinal injuries or serious heart conditions should skip this one.
