Toroverde’s wild zipline lets you fly above Puerto Rico’s green hills

You’ll fly face-first across Puerto Rico’s lush hills on The Beast zipline at Toroverde Adventure Park—with a special harness, local guide support, and all gear included. Feel your heart race as you reach wild speeds over 1.4 km of open air, then laugh about your landing with new friends. This is one for your nerves—and your memory.

Step-by-step itinerary

  • Arrive at Toroverde Adventure Park
  • Wear closed-toe shoes
  • Check in 30 minutes early
  • Put on special harness
  • Fly on 4,745 feet zipline
  • Reach speeds up to 60 MPH

The Experience

Gripping the harness straps, I could hear my own heartbeat—maybe louder than the wind. The guide, José, grinned and asked if I was ready in that way locals do when they know you’re not. He tightened my helmet and said something in Spanish I half-understood (pretty sure it was “don’t look down”). There was this sharp smell of metal and sunscreen in the air, and someone behind me nervously laughed. The zipline itself—The Beast—just stretched out forever above the trees. It looked even longer than 1.4 kilometers from up there.

When they clipped me in, my shoes dangled over nothing but green. You really do fly—face first, arms out like some awkward superhero. For a second it’s just wind and this blur of treetops below. My eyes watered from the speed (they said 60mph but it felt faster), and honestly, I forgot to be scared halfway through because it was so loud and bright up there. It’s not quiet—there’s shouting from below, birds somewhere off to the side, a weird taste of adrenaline on your tongue.

I landed clumsily at the end—José caught me before I could totally wipe out (he laughed about it for a while). There were high-fives all around from people I’d never met before; everyone seemed a little shaky but weirdly proud. We swapped stories about who screamed loudest. Even now, sometimes when I close my eyes, I can still feel that rush in my chest—and yeah, my legs were jelly for an hour after.
