The Experience

You start equipped with a helmet and harness, then fly through the lush canopy on nine carbon fiber zip lines, one after another. Two rappels follow—descents where you control the pace on the rope. After the lines and rappels, a short nature walk leads into the foothills, where the Mameyes River sits in a natural pool. Weather permitting, you can swim, cliff jump from a small height, or swing from a rope over the water; all three are optional, so you choose what suits you. The guide explains the flora and history of the area as you move through it.

Once you're done at the river, the drive to Luquillo Beach takes the remaining time. The kiosks there serve local food and drinks—no formal restaurant, just the casual open-air stalls where islanders eat. You can sit, eat, and watch the beach before heading back to San Juan. The air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your San Juan location and returns you there, so transport is handled both ways. Bottled water comes with you throughout the day.
