The experience

The van leaves San Juan heading east toward El Yunque, and within an hour you're pulling into Las Paylas: a pocket of the rainforest most tourists never find. The Mameyes River has carved natural slides into the rock face, pools that sit between them, and a small cave tucked into the bank.
