The Experience
The afternoon starts with hotel pickup and a drive to Łazienki, the Royal Garden in one of the few Warsaw districts that survived World War II intact—most of the monuments there are original eighteenth-century structures. From there, the route moves to the Monument to Warsaw Ghetto Heroes and the adjacent POLIN Museum, which documents a century of Polish Jewish history in a modern, interactive space; if you want to explore it afterward, the driver can drop you there. The tour then passes Umschlagplatz, the square where Nazis loaded Jewish prisoners onto trains bound for Treblinka.
The final stretch centers on the Old Town. You'll see the Royal Castle from the outside—destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and rebuilt in 1984—and St. John's Archcathedral, a Masovian Gothic structure that was completely demolished by Nazis and reconstructed in 1960. A walking section through the Old Town Market Square and the Barbican, a red-brick Gothic defensive wall, closes the tour. The last stop is the Monument to Warsaw Uprising Fighters, one of Warsaw's most symbolic memorials.
The bus holds a maximum of 15 people with 1.5 meters between seats, high ceilings so you don't need to bend, and a separate electric entrance for passengers and the guide. Unlimited soft drinks, Coca-Cola, and traditional Wedel chocolate candies are available throughout. Hotel drop-off is included at the end.
