The Experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel and a drive to Warsaw Old Town, where a coordinator meets you for a walking tour of the neighborhood's most recognizable spots: the Barbican, the Old Town Square with its central Siren fountain, King Sigismund's Column, and the start of the Royal Route—the artery connecting the city's former royal residences. The streets themselves are lined with cafes and galleries, and the square is ringed by characteristic tenement buildings that survived the city's reconstruction after World War II.

From there you move to the Royal Castle at Castle Square, a baroque-classicist residence that served as the seat of Poland's ruling bodies from the 16th century onward. An audio-guide (available in Polish, English, German, Russian, French, Italian or Spanish) walks you through the royal chambers built for King Stanisław August Poniatowski, the Sejm chambers where parliament met, and rooms like the Throne Room with its red velvet and gold, the Knight Room, and the Ballroom, which holds Poland's largest ceiling fresco. A multimedia exhibition covers the castle's destruction and rebuilding.

Transport takes you next to POLIN Museum, documenting centuries of Jewish history in Poland through multimedia exhibitions showing how Poles and Jews lived and worked together. The virtual library lets you see Hebrew and Yiddish texts, and you can print a page from a 16th-century book on a period press. The museum traces family relations, neighborly ties, and the Jewish-Christian relationship that shaped the city. Your audio-guide here comes in ten languages including Hebrew and Yiddish. At the end, the driver returns you to your hotel.
