Hotel pickup and drop-off are included; soft drinks and Polish chocolate are served on board.

The Experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel and heads to Łazienki, the Royal Garden in a district that survived World War II intact, so the monuments there are original 18th-century structures. From there the guide takes you to the Monument to Warsaw Ghetto Heroes and the adjacent POLIN museum, then to Umschlagplatz — one of the most significant sites in Warsaw's wartime history — before moving into the Old Town itself.

The coach holds a maximum of 15 people, each with their own seat and 1.5 meters of distance to the next, so there's room to move without crowding. The bus is tall enough that you don't need to bend down, and the entrance is wide and electric. Unlimited soft drinks and Polish traditional Wedel chocolate candies are available throughout the ride. The second half of the tour is partly on foot: you'll walk around the Old Town Market Square, pass through the Barbican (a Gothic-style defensive wall made of handmade red brick), and see the Monument to Warsaw Uprising Fighters before the guide either drops you back at your hotel or leaves you in the Old Town to explore on your own.

The Royal Castle and St. John's Archcathedral are both viewed from the outside — both were completely destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising and rebuilt in the 1980s and 1960s respectively. The guide will explain what you're looking at and why these reconstructions matter to the city. After the tour, if you're interested in the POLIN museum next to the Ghetto Heroes monument, the driver can drop you there to explore it independently.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you're staying in a Warsaw hotel without a car — pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport to the starting point, and the 3-hour window fits a morning or early afternoon without consuming your whole day. The small group and spacious seating mean you're not packed in with 40 other people, so the guide's commentary actually reaches you.

Top questions

What is the Barbican in Warsaw's Old Town?

The Barbican is a defensive wall structure built in Gothic style from handmade red brick, part of the Old Town's original fortifications. You'll walk through it during the tour as part of the Old Town section.

Can I visit inside the Royal Castle or St. John's Archcathedral on this tour?

The tour includes viewing both the Royal Castle and St. John's Archcathedral from the outside only. Both buildings were completely destroyed during World War II and rebuilt — the Castle in 1984 and the Archcathedral in 1960 — and the guide will explain their history and significance as you see them.

Is there a chance to visit the POLIN museum?

The POLIN museum, which tells the history of Polish Jews, stands next to the Monument to Warsaw Ghetto Heroes on the tour route. After the tour ends, the driver can drop you there to visit independently; the museum is interactive and does not require a guide.

How does the small group size work on this tour?

The bus holds a maximum of 15 people, with each passenger getting their own seat and 1.5 meters of space to the next person. The coach is tall enough that you don't need to bend down, and the wide electric entrance keeps the boarding process separate for passengers, the driver and the guide.

What's included to drink and eat during the 3-hour tour?

Unlimited soft drinks (still water and Coca-Cola) and Polish traditional Wedel chocolate candies are served on board throughout the tour.

Does the tour include hotel pickup?

Yes, hotel pickup and drop-off are included. The tour starts at your hotel and ends either back there or in the Old Town, depending on your preference.
