The experience
The day starts with a 2.5-hour drive from Cebu City to Moalboal, where you board a private boat to Pescador Island. The snorkeling itself runs about 2 to 2.5 hours in waters known for the sardine run (a dense school of fish moving as one organism), and for sea turtles that drift through the same reefs. You wear a wetsuit, fins and snorkel gear provided by the operator. An underwater camera is available to rent if you want to keep the footage. The boat stays anchored while you're in the water, and the guide stays with your group.
After snorkeling, a one-hour drive takes you to Kawasan Falls in Badian. Before the canyoneering starts, you eat a local lunch at the base camp and get a five-minute safety briefing. The guides hand out helmets, life vests and aqua shoes. If you want the adrenaline rush first, an optional 30-minute zipline ride over the forest and river precedes the trek. The canyoneering itself (about 2 to 3 hours of trekking, jumping into pools, sliding down natural waterslides and swimming through turquoise water) is guided the whole way. A guide speaks English and stays with your group throughout.
The return drive to Cebu City takes 2 to 3 hours, with arrival around 7 pm. You'll need at least a moderate fitness level for the canyoneering. Children as young as 7 can join the snorkeling, but only those 7 and older can do the Kawasan activity. Fins are available to rent on-site if you don't bring your own.

Is this one for you?Hotel pickup from Cebu City means you don't need a car or a ride arranged separately. The driver collects you and handles the 2.5-hour drive to Moalboal, so you can book this on your first or last free day without logistics. The full day combines water and land in one trip, so if you have only one afternoon or morning free, both activities fit inside it.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the sardine run at Pescador Island?
The sardine run is a massive school of sardines that moves as a single, coordinated body through the reef. You snorkel in the same waters where sea turtles also swim, and the guide stays with your group to point out the marine life and keep everyone together.
Can I do just the snorkeling without the canyoneering?
The product combines both activities in one day, so both are included in the booking. You cannot split them into separate purchases through this listing.
What happens if I don't want to do the zipline at Kawasan Falls?
The zipline is optional. You can skip it and go straight to the canyoneering trek, which includes jumping, sliding and swimming through the waterfalls and pools. The trek itself lasts 2 to 3 hours either way.
Is lunch included, and can you handle dietary needs?
Yes, a local lunch is served at the base camp after snorkeling and before canyoneering. The operator can accommodate vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements if you note them when you book.
How long is the drive from Cebu City, and what time does the day end?
The initial drive to Moalboal is 2.5 hours. The full day runs 12 to 14 hours from pickup to return, with arrival back in Cebu City around 7 pm.
