The experience
The day starts before dawn: pickup from your Cebu City or Mactan Island hotel at 3am, then a 3-hour drive south with a breakfast stop along the way. You arrive at Moalboal while the morning light is still shallow, and the snorkeling begins in a reef where the water holds a school of sardines so dense they move as a single organism, catching and throwing light. Sea turtles graze and rest in the same water. The snorkeling gear is provided, and you spend the morning in the shallows watching both.
Kawasan Falls, the largest waterfall in Cebu, sits in a canyon where the water runs clear and cold. The canyoneering starts with instruction from a technical guide, so no prior experience is needed. You climb the rock face, jump from ledges that range from 1.5 meters to 9 meters, and swim in the pools between the falls. The guide stays with the group and helps you choose a jump height that matches your comfort. Lunch happens at the only restaurant at the falls, positioned in front of the second waterfall, with local food, fruit and a drink. Life jackets, towels and all entry fees are included. If you want to rent fins for snorkeling or add a zip line at the falls, you can choose those at checkout.
The return drive takes 3 hours, and you're back at your hotel around 6pm. The schedule can shift if weather turns, and the guide decides on the day whether conditions allow the full plan. Bring a moderate level of fitness: the activity involves sustained climbing, jumping and swimming in moving water. Children under 7 are not permitted for safety reasons, and the tour is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns. Travel accident insurance is included in the price once you provide names and dates of birth at booking.

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is canyoneering at Kawasan Falls actually like for a beginner?
Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls combines climbing the rock face, jumping into pools, and swimming between the falls. A technical guide provides instruction and stays with you, so beginners can participate safely. You choose your own jump height from 1.5 to 9 meters, so you control how challenging the activity feels.
Will I actually see sea turtles and sardines in Moalboal?
Moalboal is known for a large school of sardines and resident sea turtles, but as wild animals they are not guaranteed on any given day. The snorkeling spot is a top-quality reef where both are frequently seen, and you spend the morning in the water with snorkeling gear provided.
How early does the pickup happen, and why?
Pickup starts at 3am from your hotel so the group can depart Cebu City at 5am. The 3-hour drive gets you to Moalboal in early morning light, when snorkeling conditions are best and the water is calmest.
What do I need to bring, and what's provided?
Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and a moderate level of fitness. The operator provides life jackets, towel rental, snorkeling equipment, lunch with fruit and drink, all entry fees, and travel accident insurance. Breakfast is a stop on the drive, not included, and gratuity is optional.
Can I add extras like fins or a zip line?
Yes, fin rental (150 PHP per person) and a zip line at Kawasan Falls (600 PHP per person) are optional at checkout. GoPro rental is also available on a first-come, first-served basis if you request it when booking.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The schedule may change due to weather, and the guide makes the decision on the day of the tour. Canyoneering and snorkeling both depend on safe water conditions, so the guide has the authority to adjust the itinerary if needed.
