Step-by-step itinerary
Kawasan Falls and Moalboal snorkeling
- Swim and trek at Kawasan Falls
- Snorkel at Moalboal
The experience
The day starts with a drive south to Moalboal, where Panagsama Beach opens into one of the Philippines' most recognizable marine spectacles: a massive sardine run that gathers close enough to the shore for snorkeling. You'll enter the water to move among the schools alongside turtles and clownfish, the sheer density of the sardine ball the main draw for divers and snorkelers across the region. The beach itself is the working heart of the tour, not a side stop.
After Moalboal, the route continues inland to Badian and Kawasan Falls, a multi-tiered cascade ranked 6th among the world's most beautiful waterfalls in 2022. The falls drop over limestone cliffs into clear, emerald-colored pools surrounded by forest. You'll trek to reach the falls and swim in the pools. The water is cold and the pools are deep enough to require comfort in the water. Lunch is provided during the day, and the tour wraps by early evening.
An air-conditioned vehicle collects you from your hotel and returns you at the end of the day. The guide speaks English or Japanese and stays with the group throughout. Bottled water is included. Bring a towel, reef-safe sunscreen and a change of clothes for the water activities.
