The Experience

The Cessna leaves Pisco airport mid-morning, and for the next hour you're looking down at lines carved into the desert floor centuries ago (a monkey with a spiral tail, a hummingbird, a spider, a condor) each one so large you'd walk past it on the ground without knowing what you were seeing. The aircraft is small, a 12-seat Caravan, and the windows sit a bit high, so you lean forward to get the angle. Nobody really knows why the Nazca Lines are there.
