The Experience

“Don’t look down until you’re ready,” our guide grinned, tightening my harness at the Sarangkot launch. I laughed, but honestly, my palms were already sweating — it’s not every day you stare out at the Annapurna range with your feet dangling over a 600-meter drop. The drive up from Pokhara Lakeside was all switchbacks and misty trees; I kept catching glimpses of paragliders drifting in the distance, and someone’s radio playing old Nepali pop songs through an open van window. That smell of pine and damp earth sticks with me.

The ZipFlyer Nepal is wild — they say it’s the world’s steepest zipline, and I believe them now. You get strapped in side by side (I went with a new friend from our hostel), and when they count down, there’s this split second where everything goes silent except for wind and your own heartbeat. Then you’re flying. The speed is unreal — over 100 km/h — but what got me was how wide open everything felt: green valleys below, river glinting far off, clouds snagged on distant peaks. My friend yelled something that got lost in the wind; I just remember grinning so hard my face hurt.

At the end, landing in Hemja felt almost too soon. Our guide clapped us on the back and asked if we wanted tea or water — I couldn’t tell if my legs were shaking from nerves or excitement. There was this little kid watching his uncle come in on the next line, waving like mad every time someone zipped past. Made me think about how wild it must be to grow up seeing this every day.

I still think about that first moment when you let go and trust the line to carry you — maybe that’s what makes people come back here again. Or maybe it’s just wanting another excuse to see those mountains up close. Either way… yeah, I’d do it again.

What’s included

Your adventure includes hotel pickup from Pokhara Lakeside, all entry fees for ZipFlyer Nepal, a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for transfers up to Sarangkot launch site, plus support from local guides throughout—so you just show up ready to fly.
