What’s included

Your day includes private transportation from your hotel or meeting point in Pokhara, bottled water to keep you going between rapids, and complimentary photos snapped along the way so you don’t have to worry about your phone getting soaked—just focus on paddling and taking it all in before heading back to town together.

The first thing I remember is the cold splash—sharp, almost electric—right as we pushed off into the Upper Seti. Pokhara was waking up behind us, but out here it was just river noise and that weird mix of nerves and excitement. Our guide, Rajan, grinned like he’d seen this a thousand times (he probably has). He showed us how to paddle in sync—sort of—and told us not to worry about falling in. “Just breathe,” he said, which sounded easy until the first rapid hit. That water is fast. Like, really fast. I lost count of how many times my heart jumped.

There’s this part where you look up and suddenly those Annapurna peaks are just there—huge and quiet above all the chaos below. The sun kept darting in and out of clouds, so sometimes everything looked silver, then green again. We bounced through narrow sections that felt too tight for a raft (I still don’t know how Rajan steered us through). At one point we floated through a gorge where it got strangely peaceful; even the birds seemed to hush for a second. Someone behind me started humming a Nepali tune—I think just from relief.

I tried shouting something over the roar (no idea what), but it got swallowed by water and wind. My hands were numb by then, but honestly I didn’t care—I was laughing too hard at myself for missing Rajan’s cue to “paddle forward!” By the time we pulled out onto shore again, everyone looked like they’d been through a car wash but nobody wanted it to end yet. The whole thing took maybe an hour and a half? It felt both longer and way too short at once.
