The experience

The day opens at Grand Socco, the main square where Tangier's old medina meets its modern side, then moves through Parc Perdicares (a green space set back from the city noise) before heading to Cape Spartel. That's the northwestern tip of Africa, where you stand and watch the Atlantic and Mediterranean converge. The camel ride happens on the beach near there, a stop built in so you can ride and photograph the animals against the water.

From the beach you drive to the Hercules Cave, a natural opening in the rock face with views back out to sea. The cave carries old stories tied to Greek mythology, though the operator does not detail them. The entrance and the ocean view are the main draw.
